Dr Richard Chong was born in Malaysia and emigrated to New Zealand as a child. Since graduating from the University of Auckland, he has worked in the public hospitals with a special interest in Orthopaedics before training in Primary Healthcare. As well as being a General Practitioner, Richard Chong has worked as an Urgent Care doctor in the East and South Auckland area since 2016.
You’ll find Dr Chong to be a very approachable person who loves to engage, educate and empower patients to be in charge of their own health journey. Moreover, Dr Chong continues to have a special interest in minor surgery and musculoskeletal injuries. He lives in Auckland with his partner and two children. After work, Richard is a keen gamer and often volunteers his time to organise and officiate events for the Pokemon community as a Pokemon Professor!

To join our clinic, you first need to fill out the patient enrolment forms to register with the PHO that we belong to. This is a Ministry of Health requirement. You will need to provide proof of identity and eligibility which may include the following forms of identification:
On the enrolment form you need to indicate which of our doctors (currently taking new patients) that you would like to be registered with.
All GP appointments are 15 minutes long.
If you are a new patient, you will get full access to the patient portal “My Indici” once you have completed your enrolment.
Payment is required at time of consultation. Please note that unpaid accounts will incur an additional $10 monthly administration cost.
